Anne Walton's Bio

Anne Walton
CNVC Certified Trainer

Anne Walton's introduction to Nonviolent Communication came in 2005 when she participated in a 3 day workshop with Marshall Rosenberg; what she heard there made her heart sing with joy and she committed to learning and sharing the process with others. In 2009, this journey led to her designation as Certified Trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication.

Sharing NVC brings Anne so much joy and meaning and an abundance of opportunity for growth and self-discovery! Anne now shares NVC in Canada and the US at online and in-person trainings and has offered it in organizations, schools, hospitals, conferences, homeless shelters and adult recovery programs.

She celebrates the enormous shift in her ability to connect with herself and others which NVC has inspired. As a facilitator, Anne blends her warmth, authenticity and sense of humor to create a learning environment which is fun, energizing and inspiring.

Anne's zest for life, bright, curious mind and sense of humour has led to many other life enriching experiences including: a certificate in Conflict Resolution from the Justice Institute of BC; creating/performing comedy shows and routines; presenting at the International Conference on Conflict Resolution in St Petersburg, Russia; publishing a story in Chicken Soup for the Soul at Work; giving keynote speeches at Hospice Conferences; training health care staff in effective communication skills including design of self-directed modules; designing and facilitating workshops on a wide variety of topics from working with the dying to career exploration.

Anne makes her home in Ottawa, Canada and regularly spends time in Calgary and California. She has 2 children, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren all of whom she treasures spending time with.
